Matthew Hillis owns a mid-size screen printing shop in Hazel Green, Ala. It has an 8-color automatic, 12 embroidery heads, and employs seven people. Niches include schools, churches, banks and other small businesses.

In addition, Hillis has a preprint line under the brand name Flint Crossing Outdoors. It features T-shirts, sweats and beanies with outdoor graphics and themes. Proceeds from this line are donated to Mission Firefly, which assists countries such as Guatemala, Haiti, Mongolia, India and Nepal to obtain clean water.

Embroidery is his fastest growing segment of his business, which he estimates is evenly split between B2B and B2C.
